The New Groove

From The New Groove

Hello All!

How’s it going? Hope that life has been treating you excellently this past holiday season. Around here it has been hectic, wonderful, tumultuous, challenging, beautiful. A time of change. Indeed, the last few weeks have been a massive whirlwind in my life. Moving, travelling, partying, working, swimming, birthdaying, chilling, hiking, wedding-ing, hacking, drinking … All the things mashed together.

Let’s start in the water. It’s a great place to start. We came from there.

The crew has been hitting the ocean with vigor.

From The New Groove

The ocean has been kicking my ass and humbling like nothing else. Just when I start getting some swagger in the water, I spend a few minutes at ocean beach and am reminded of my tiny place on this planet. I love it.

Got in a solid body surf sesh on the birthday. We hit the kind waters at Baker Beach.

Wonderful.

Got to see a legit hack space with Doug.

Chang works there. It is the real deal.

From The New Groove

Have no recollection of this photo being taken.

Andrea visited us. We got silly.

From The New Groove

Yup, I have amassed so my pics over the last 7 weeks since I last blogged, that I have no memory of taking many of them.

I imagine that Di and I got all dressed up here because I was taking her somewhere swanky.

From The New Groove

Ahhh, yes, this makes more sense here.

Once I saw the next photo I immediately realized where we went! Ilana and her Mom threw a stellar awesome Chanukah party and Di and I got all fancy for that. It’s a good thing I take all these pictures, cause it’s looking like my old age isn’t doing much for the memory.

Anyways, I digress.

This is Ilana’s Mom. She is rad.

From The New Groove

As are these lovely ladies.

🙂

From The New Groove

The party was thoroughly dapper indeed!

From The New Groove

Lighting the candles.

From The New Groove

As the night progressed Benu somehow ended up in a ski suit.

Bless this woman.

From The New Groove

The new hood is beyond cool. It is by far the most urban place I have ever lived in. No question.

Sure, there’s a lot of dudes sleeping on the sidewalk right in front of the house.

And sure, there’s a bunch of peeps just meandering around and rolling out of bars.

And yup, we’re all crammed into these tiny buildings with these tiny rooms.

But life is amazing. It just suits us so well.

From The New Groove

We played taboo the other night.

Guys team won.

No surprises there.

From The New Groove

None of this is chronological.

Sorry about that, future me. This blog has turned into such an excellent personal-journal resource. Ya know … I just really like documenting the whole thing. One day I am gonna be really old and looking back through all of these will just tickle me to no end. But, future you, this post is gonna go out of order kinda.

New Year’s day. Seider and I charged the headlands on our bikes.

Started the year off right.

From The New Groove

Played my first round of frisbee golf a few days prior to that.

Laffite rocked it.

Your blogger … Not so much.

From The New Groove

We went down to SoCal for the holidays this year, and I got to spend Christmas with the absolutely wonderful Won family.

I was nervous as ever. Super crazy nervous.

But it went better than I could have ever hoped. Di’s family welcomed me with such warmth, such hospitality; I couldn’t have imagined a more excellent holiday season. Your blogger is soaring.

🙂

Here’s the crew at breakfast.

From The New Groove

… And Christmas dinner.

From The New Groove

… We even went hiking for Christmas.

Pretty much my favorite thing ever.

From The New Groove

Back in the bay it’s been wet and cold and all wintry.

Nevertheless, we’ve been chilling!

From The New Groove

This time of year brought out so many excellent folks.

Yo!

From The New Groove

Hmm… Looks like there are a schlew of pics from my birthday here.

We partied at the tight pants show at Edinburgh Castle. Lamont hosts it. If you haven’t been, you need to go.

From The New Groove

The night before my birthday we did a city walk to Tommy’s.

It’s officially tradition now.

The whole crew came out.

From The New Groove

And I had no idea what was going on.

From The New Groove

City walks are these ridiculous hikes across the city that are the best things ever.

From The New Groove

This time around there were even peeps meeting us along the way with supplies.

Those beers came at a much needed point!!!

From The New Groove

The posse who walked from the Embarcadero to The Richmond on my birthday.

I love you guys.

From The New Groove

Had a nice afternoon on the dock.

Enjoyed a beer. Sat at a bench. Thought about life and what I have done and what I need to do and how blessed all of this is.

From The New Groove

More birthday shenanigans.

Also, that’s our new couch. We got it on Amazon. It’s a sectional.

From The New Groove

Food at the Seider’s. Holy Moly.

It is ridic!

From The New Groove

The Pontz and Tim and I went hiking.

Again … There’s no coherence to these pics. It’s all jumbled together.

But oh well, sometimes that is how memories need to be remembered. Like a mashed up soup.

The hike was beautiful.

From The New Groove

We were stoking pretty heavy.

From The New Groove

Enjoyed pretty much the best rainbow of our lives.

From The New Groove

And basked in the glory of a Northern California Winter.

From The New Groove

… Which brings us to the wedding.

… One of the coolest I have ever had the pleasure of attending.

Nigel and Michelle.

The bride was smashing.

From The New Groove

As were the guests.

Damn!

From The New Groove

And I mean HOT DAMN!

It was awesome.

From The New Groove

Prom Photo!

My Moon.

My Light.

From The New Groove

The reception was at the Palace of Fine Arts.

Ya – Absurdly Cool.

From The New Groove

It was all night and just so incredible.

You could mingle and eat and dance and drink and mess with all the cool science stuff.

How did you come up with such a rad idea for a reception!!!

From The New Groove

Laffite was in his element.

From The New Groove

Grrrrrhhhhb!

From The New Groove

Circles!

Spinning!

From The New Groove

What is going on?

Seriously.

From The New Groove

It just felt so cool being a part of this.

Your blogger is massively thankful.

From The New Groove

🙂

From The New Groove

After weeks of travelling, our favorite person came back!

AAAAKI!

Welcome home.

From The New Groove

And as this blogs concludes, my big bro came out for the weekend.

So refreshing hanging out with Johnnie Blaze.

From The New Groove

We got a bit silly with this dude as well.

From The New Groove

And capped it all of with a nine person brunch.

From The New Groove

Be excellent.

I promise, there’s gonna be more frequent blogging here. I need to do this. It’s good for the soul.

Happy Holidays!
