Early Spring Backpacking in Point Reyes

Hello All!

There’s no better way to compliment the gnar factor of last week’s trip than to spend a night in the soft, green, welcoming coastal forests of Point Reyes. This past weekend your blogger replaced the austere peaks of the Trinity Alps, with the kind rolling hills of our northern coast.

Also … I could not pick a better camping buddy than JR.

Wise beyond his years, and one of the most joyous souls I know, having a chance to enjoy 27 hours of camping with this man is just wonderful beyond words.

We have charged so many outdoor adventures over the past 13 years … However we haven’t done a backpacking trip with just the two of us since freshman year of college.

🙂

Here we are, braving the Lost Coast in 2001.

The weather was classic Nor Cal Spring.

Steady wind, clear skies, and coolness that kept your blogger’s unusually warm body temp at a very pleasant level.

And the park … Pristine.

And spent the evening enjoying one of the most magnificent sunsets I have seen in a long time.

It is good to be home.

Indeed, what more can I say.

One of my best friends, one of my favorite forests, a hike to put the mind at ease.

Have a wonderful day my friends.
