What I’m thankful for

December 26th, 2009

As I sit down to write this post, it’s already an hour and ten minutes after Christmas. Nevertheless, I figure that now’s as good of time as any to express what I am thankful for this year.

First off, I just want to send out a whole lot of love to my family, especially it’s newest member, Little Reed Louis Stephenson. He was born April 13th this year, and is as beautiful a little dude as there is.

Next, keeping with how cheesey this post has become, I would like to tell all of my friends just how much I appreciate them. Dudes, you are wonderful. And, my birthday present this year, a bike stand from my most excellent housemates, was as useful as it was cool. (Below, a before and after pic of my derailer.)

And of course, the only good reason to clean your bike is so that you can rip up the Headlands on Christmas eve and take glam shots of your baby.

Actually, check that, an even better reason to clean up your bike is that you can ride the Great Highway on Christmas Day with Siegel and Rocci.

Another thing I am thankful for is the San Diego Chargers! They have won ten straight football games, and are looking solid. River, Gates, Tomlinson, Jackson, Floyd, Naane, Sproles, Siler, Tolbert, Hester, Phillips, Cromartie, Jammer, Cooper, Weddle, Kaeding … And the list could go on and on. You’re superstars. And what makes this season all the cooler is that I get to watch them play at one of the most archetypal bars imaginable, The Tee Off.

And lastly, my coding buddies: BBWD hacking eastwood, JC’s and of course Pestec with Milli; Murray and his future with Adobe APIs; and especially the G and Abbas. Software Engineering has been a trip. It’s been a hell of year pushing pixels and pounding out code. This last little snippet was the driver for my final homework assignment – It’ll tell you about my computer. Cheers!
