Eats: Simple Name, Dope Meal

Often, I can get a bit carried away with the use of the word ‘favorite’. Especially living in a place like SF, the inclination to use it so often overwhelms your author that he has probably, over the years, diluted its meaning a bit. Oh well, such is life … I would rather live an existence where I err towards this inclination.

Nevertheless, I would like to write a review of my favorite breakfast place in the world, Eats. Located on 2nd Avenue and Clement, this lovely little corner cafe serves up a tremendous meal. With a menu that is neither too long, nor too short, there is something for just about everyone. Corn beef and hash, juevos rancheros, standard scramble arrays — It’s impossible to go wrong … (ordering from the menu, that is … reading it is a whole other ball game):

The decor is as classic as the menu options … Complete with retro-hip brown coffee mugs (containing an excellent brew I might add), plastic table-top covers, and a sun-just-rose-three-hours-ago-let’s-chow kind of a vibe, Eats just ‘feels’ like an archetypal breakfast hub.

My personal favorite, the black bean omelette with avo on top and an extra side of sour dough is simply divine. As I am trying my darndest to eat a more like a veg, the richness of this meal satisfies my voracious appetite as well as my new-found animal-friendly diet.

Yup … I can not recommend this place enough. The food is aces, the service beyond superb, and the locale – perfect. You should go there.
