Hello All,

Had a most excellent Labor Day weekend … Rode up to Samuel P. Taylor State Park to get in some solid camping with Keirns.

Back to back weekends bike camping is about as dope as it gets. My soul feels refreshed.

… So on Saturday we get a late start after Kernel rocks some coaching … But we nevertheless roll up to the bridge and cruise into Marin just as the marine layer begins to burn off.

The day was nothing short of spectacular.

We held a real solid clip all the way through Sir Francis Drake …

… And made it to the redwoods in fine form.

Dude, this place is just so so so wonderful. Your blogger highly recommends!

Now, last week’s post was a little more raw … Arriving to camp exhausted and lonely, with an aching and nostalgic heart, I spent the afternoon a Saturday ago reflecting on all the amazing experiences I’ve had outdoors with my friends and family. I was lonely. I was worked.

Not so this time around.

We got to Samuel P. Taylor, charged up a real steep 150 yard hill, set up a stealth camp in a redwood grove, and were stoked beyond stoked. The universe felt right.

We also had a 12′er.

The trusty tarp.

The trusty bag.

All the gear at its finest!

We climbed out onto a felled tree and spent the afternoon shooting the shit and enjoying it all.

Dinner consisted of a menu that would make Chez panis jealous:

mac n cheese (with butter AND milk)
ground turkey buger
sliced tomato
beer
chips
bean dip

Seriously, we grubbed.

And we grubbed hard.

After a very serene night’s sleep, woke up to my favorite.

Hand-brewed camping coffee.

Leisurely packed up camp, and enjoyed the radiance of waking up amongst the coastal redwoods.

So we charged it home, I made it to Miche’s bday party, met up with the Dan and the Peace Corps crew, and now, like clockwork, am headed back over to Berkeley to see the fellow blogger.

Cheers All!
