Hello All,
So we’re in the heart of December, and what with my birthday, Hanukkah, the solstice, Christmas, New Year’s and a schlew of days off from work, there is a whole lot of celebrating going on … And if you’ve been to the blog before, you probably well know there are few things I enjoy writing about more than partying. Let’s do this.
Okay, rewind to Wednesday night. I turned 29. Holy Crap.

Starting the night off at one of my absolute favorite spots in the city, we kicked off the evening at the dock.
We had tallboys; and it was Glorious.

… Meandering over to a pub, we meet up with Murray. Homey just got back from Belize and has the jellyfish scars to prove it.
From happy holidays yo
Dinner was quite dope.

We capped off the night with a surprise birthday cake from Siegel. Seriously, what a mensch! He’d managed to sneak the thing around with him the whole evengin in a frigging shopping bag …

Thursday rolls around and work parties inspired the housemates to get in the spirit …
From happy holidays yo
I was able to kill two birds with one BART ride, and rolled down to the airport to meet both Kyle as well as my fellow blogger.
(I think that Kyle had slept like nine total hours in three days when he initially arrived.)

The next morning Di and I trekked through the rain, rolling out to the Haight …
It was very, very rad.

The G rolls up from some brunch action … Seriously, seeing my Dude back on the bike makes me stoked to no end.
Yes!

It was one of those meals that lasted like two hours, and with Roch, Di and the Guru in attendance … Well it was ridiculous … We basically shut the Pork Store down.

Further braving the rain, Di and I adventured through a glowing winter’s day in Golden Gate Park.
From happy holidays yo
Our destination, the Impressionist exhibit at the DeYoung.
From happy holidays yo
A couple months back Rocci and I hit up the first part of the show … And now getting to see the second half, learning the story of the movement’s progression, it was raw.
Home Boy Pissarro was on display:

As was everyone’s favorite dawg, DeGas.
From happy holidays yo
I hadn’t really known much about Paul Signac before seeing this exhibit, but Dude’s ‘pointilism’ was hella sick.
From happy holidays yo
Headlining the event, Van Gogh was rocking mad style.
From happy holidays yo
… And the whole way through, your blogger got to experience the show with some amazing modern art by his side.
Mother. Fucking. Modern. Art.
From happy holidays yo
Later that night … Di had gotten us oysters shipped to the house.
And we shucked them.
And it was good.
From happy holidays yo
I got to chill out and enjoy an array of birthday presents.
Word Up.
From happy holidays yo
Everyone was very much in his element.

The next morning we get Korean food. Ya know, I’d never really tried this cuisine in the past … But the past few months your blogger has definitely grown very, very fond of ban chon! (Damn, I have been missing out.)
From happy holidays yo
With Korean taking up most of the AM, I had to wait several hours before coffee.
But when it arrived, I was ecstatic to see my old friend.

Continuing in the groove of huge city walks, Di and I stroll out to Union Square, braved monster crowds in the rain, successfully got me jeans, and somehow wandered into a pulp/smut bookstore. (yes, you read that right.)

Whether it be the vibrant greens of Golden Gate Park, or the bright lights of downtown, SF was glowing.
From happy holidays yo
That night we made pizza at the house.
Each guest was tasked with bringing their favorite topping.
From happy holidays yo
Danch also came.
From happy holidays yo
But this Dude here was the architect of it all … Laboring (literally) days on prepping the dough and what not.
From happy holidays yo
It was a crazy, crazy cool time.
From happy holidays yo
It kinda’ always is with this one …
From happy holidays yo
Indeed, good wine, good pizza, good peeps.
From happy holidays yo
We even had Mrs. Danch in the hizzle.
What. Is. Up. Dudette!
From happy holidays yo
Sterling, who’d been with us the whole week, dropped some very solid guitar.
From happy holidays yo
The attic was as radical as ever.
I mean, seriously, this kid lives here. Like, he wakes up and stuff and is literally in this wild artist/scientist/musician/ping pong’er dream space.
From happy holidays yo
Di modelled this crazy MIT sculpture thing.
From happy holidays yo
Rounding out one of the loveliest weekends of the year, Kyle’s Mom Lee came out to visit.
As always, seeing our favorite professor (ya, she’s a professor!) was so nice.
From happy holidays yo
We mobbed Hayes. Mobbed it in style.
From happy holidays yo
And of course, seeing this little one was an absolute joy.
From happy holidays yo
So ya … That brings us to the end.
December has indeed been very, very good to your blogger.
